Organising information

The linear system of notetaking involves little preparation and is a way of organising your notes so that they are easier to understand them later. It is also useful to look at the chapter headings to help you anticipate the main ideas.

  • Leave a wide margin at the side of your page for key points. The rest of your page is for the supporting minor points.
  • Head the page with topic, date and record all bibliographic details, ie author, title, page no, publisher.
  • Record your own thoughts in either another colour or separate column / margin.
