Direct quotes

When you use the exact words, ideas, images etc of another person, you are quoting the author. You must place the text in quotation marks, cite the author, the year of publication and the page number.

Example of a direct quote

If you do not use quotation marks around the original author's direct words and cite the reference, you are plagiarising.
