Reading skills

Many people think they need to read a text from beginning to end to find relevant information, eg for assignments. However this is generally unnecessary and often a waste of time. Developing effective reading strategies helps you locate specific information in a text without having to 'read' it. These strategies allow you to find topics that you may need to read more intensively. The skill is to read with more focus.

This unit will take you through these processes.
