Performing is the stage of group development in which the 'real' work gets done.

Dickie and Dickie (2006) claim that in the performing stage the team is highly productive, has a strong identity, high morale and powerful group loyalty. After a tense start our group did to some extent develop these characteristics. This was due to a commitment by group members to focus on the task, which meant we were able to perform as a unit rather than individually. The group adopted a 'let's get it done' attitude which served to increase levels of morale and promote group loyalty.

Concluding sentence

As a result the group was able to work effectively together as a 'team' in the performing stage and consequently completed the task
